Playstation 3 controller problemes

Hello, I've had Retro Pie for a few months now and its been pretty good controller wise. But its been acting up lately. My PlayStation 3 controller that I use through Bluetooth have been working in emulationstation but when I use it during any emulator it doesn't work. It flips to 2 player and it says that the gpio controller is 1st player. I have nothing connected to my gpio pins. I tried to do something about it so I ended up deleting /dev/input/event4 (for some reason) and that did nothing. So I tried to remove my ps3 controller from the pi entirely and now I cant get it back running. Please help me get rid of my gpio controller problems and get my playstatin controller back up and running. Thanks.
(ps, in the input menu it would say that I have two controllers pluged in when I only have one playstion controller). -
Please try again now - there was a patch submitted yesterday which I accepted that broke the compile. I have reverted it. I will also put additional checks in the ps3controller module so it shows an error if it doesn't compile correctly.

Thanks. So do completely update retropie or do I just update the script.

you don't need to update the script even this time. but you can do that to get a few recent fixes. just remove / reinstall it.

I tried to reinstall it but the gpio controller is still there. How can I get rid of the gpio controller.

which gpio driver are you using ? did you install something ? what is the contents of the file

What's a gpio driver? And I didn't intentionally download anything with the gpio, it just kinda showed up a few days ago and I can't get rid of it.
The only thing hook up to my pi right now is my PS3 controller but it says that I have two controllers hooked up, the other one being "gpio controller 1 0/0". I'm not the best at tech so I don't know what to do really. BTW in the ect/modules it says uinput and mk_arcade_joystick_rpi -
@Kristopherson05 you have installed the mk_arcade_joystick_rpi gpii driver. Remove the mk_arcade_joystick_rpi line or uninstall it from RetroPie-Setup

Hey thanks for the help so far, But when I try to delete the mk_arcade_joystick_rpi it says permition denied.(I have 3 error codes).

@Kristopherson05 use sudo. See the SSH page on the wiki. But if you installed this with RetroPie-Setup you can remove from drivers section.
