Did the 4.1 Premade image for Pi3 Break USB Boot?

i Just flashed a brand new 4.1 Image to the SD i was going to use ala an SD Reader /USB Boot till i can hit the local Microcenter and pickup an actual MicroSD and just make an image of the USB SD, and flash that over. (the dedicated MicroSD i used to have for my Pi3 died on me started detecting in windows as 0.00B and nothing could format it. so im using for now the MicroSD out of my FlashCard for my DS, and just have root=/dev/sda2 set in cmdline.txt)
atm it just hangs after resizing the partition and bringing up my Network, on this last line on screen "Starting Hold until boot process finishes up..."
if 4.1 did break it, WTF Happened between 4.0 to 4.1?
