This is a modification of the Modern theme by Rookervik. I wanted to modify it to suit my tastes and decided to release it. I added grid view into this version.

Very nice. One day, when the planets align, I will sit down and work out GridView for my themes. For now, I think you are the only one really adding it.

Hehe, might want to check the license in the modern.xml. I didn't base this on simple at all. :P

@lilbud: Thanks for the offer mate. It's more a question of having the time and motivation to do it, rather than the ability. I had a play with jacobfk20's first couple of iterations (I was the one that started this post), and I was getting somewhere with it, but I started having less time to work on it. It looks like he's done heaps of work on it since then, which is awesome. Maybe I'll have some time over xmas.

@Sander2506 I do not have a 4 by 3 monitor, so my themes will not work for that aspect ratio.

This theme looks fantastic, but is it susceptible to the white screen of death?

@lilbud : I appreciate it will be twice as much work for you, but you can develop for any screen size by starting emulationstation with these flags:

--windowed
--resolution [w] [h] 

Where you can define the width and height manually.

Sorry to revive an old thread but, is the background not included in the theme? It looks like it's pointing to /splashscreens/modern/bg.png but I have nothing there. I really like the picture, it has a nice 80's vibe to it, please let me know where I can get it!

@thewinterdojer you need to use your own background and change the file path to that file.

Cycling through the systems in the carousel view slows down a little bit, do you think increasing the vram limit would help?

@thewinterdojer I know next to nothing about the VRAM, but that might work.
