Fresh install of RetroPie 4.1 on my raspberry pi 3... The issue I see now, is after my first boot of ES and configuring my l Logitech k400r keyboard, my keyboard mapping won't work in RetroArch.
    Example:
A button ES mapping = left alt
    A button RetroArch = enter
Select ES mapping = left bracket
    Select RetroArch mapping = backspace

When I go into RetroArch input menu, the buttons are listed as they should in ES, but don't follow the configuration. Keyboard also won't work in command line either.
This problem was not present in the past. Any ideas guys?

Install from a premade image or ?

Try updating all packages - could be this:
