      I am having trouble getting a selection menu item for ports. I have followed the wiki for Cave Story and have the Nxengine installed and the rom folders and files in place but nothing shows up in the main menu. Does something need to be added to the systems.cfg?

          @BuZz My apologies I did read through the wiki and did a search through the forums for a couple hours and could not find a solution to my problem. Just so that I do not make this mistake again is it that I did not post my system info that is the problem? Thanks.

              Well I have been trying for quite a while now to get the ports menu selection to show up on the main emulator menu to play Cave Story but I have had no luck at all.
              Things that I have done.

              1. downloaded and unzipped the Cave Story(Doukutsu) files and placed into the /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/CaveStory folder.

              2. installed English tanslation patch.

              3. Installed the lr-nxengine using the retropie setup tool

              Pi Model: 3B

                @mviars do you have parse gamelists only switched on in emulationstation? Or have you copied es_systems.cfg ?

                  Thanks for the reply. I have the parse gamelist at off and I do not remember coping any es_system.cfg as I am not completely sure I would now how to or where to copy to/from

                    Well I couldnt find anything that said ports in my es.systems.cfg. If thats the problem what exactly do I place into it to make it work?

                      Well I am staring to figure out some of this on my own. I finally got the ports selection menu to show up on Emulation Station by adding it as a system in the es.systems.cfg but I do not think I have the command line right as launching Cave Story just brings me back to the selection menu. I am guessing I need to understand the command line for the NXEngine emulator to run cave story?

                      <system>

                      <name>ports</name>

                      <fullname>Ports</fullname>

                      <path>/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports</path>

                      <extension>.exe</extension>

                      <command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 _SYS_ ports</command>

                      <platform>ports</platform>

                      <theme>ports</theme>

                      </system>

                        AND THERE IT IS that elusive fix I have been searching for all this time!

                        @BuZz said in Retropie not showing two emulators I just installed (RESOLVED):

                        @Shizzmoney you have a /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg file - this is not created by default so I assume you copied the system one from /etc/emulationstation to customise it ? You will need to keep it up to date if overriding the system one in `/etc/emulationstation
