Undervolt problem?

Hello. I've been having some trouble with retropie on my pi 3. Almost every time it runs, it says it undervolts.

I have a 5V 3A Power supply that came with this Media Pi Plus case. I was wondering if it's the extra stuff in the case that is causing an undervolt or the software in the pi itself. Any help would be great.

@YoshiFan501 A pi 3 requires 5 V @ 2.5A which is more than the 1.8A required by the Pi2 which that box was for? Max current draw from usb is 1.2A, what else is connected? A portable HDD would draw about 250mA at a guess.

Don't mean to hijack this topic but I have also that under volt issue. Doing a search in google shows that some guys seem to have that issue even they use 5V2.5A ac adapters.
Really curious to see what answers gonna show up here. I got my Raspberry Pi 3 about 2 weeks ago and I always thought that lighting bolt is some sort of loading icon. lol
Looks like every time at start up or when something is loading that bolt icon shows up.
Some say that the USB cable must be also of good quality to be able to transfer those 2.5A to the RPi3 others claim that cheap china ac adapters say that are 5V2.5A but they actually don't output that amount.

What AC adapter exactly are you using? Got an image of it?

its a generic 3000 mA 5v barrel jack

So you are using some sort of adapter cable to be able to connect it to the Pi?
Something like this?
If yes does that cable transfer those needed 2.4-2.5A power to the Pi?
I had an under voltage issue that I was able to solve by buying the right 2.4A micro USB cable.

Guess the only way to find out is to measure your A output or swap to a official Raspberry Pi power supply or something equivalent.
