@Pixel0501 just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't being typed in.

@lostless Hi, I was just starting out a few days ago, and on a Mac like you. The first problem I encountered was this hiccup in getting access to the Pi.

              Look here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/569/samba-apt-get-upgrade-samba-is-not-working-anymore/4

              And find this:
              *T1nue 1 May 2016, 09:01
Open the command line of the Retropie system (locally or via SSH)
Type "sudo smbpasswd -a pi", and then enter the password again ("raspberry" if you did not change the default)
After doing this, the Mac can connect using the user "pi" *

That simple fix worked for me. I haven't bothered with Transmit, etc. as Mac should see your Pi as a "connected server" (make sure you enable that via checkbox in Finder/Preferences/Sidebar) so you can find it in the Sidebar like any other drive. Make sure everything is on the same network too :)

@Pixel0501 when you say "my" password, you aren't talking about your Mac OS password are you? The default password for retropie is ........ raspberry. Another question is have you logged in via ssh before? Because if you have and had to start over by reinstalling retropie, Mac OS has a security feature that keeps logs of MAC addresses and ssh keys, and when you try to log in again it will stop you since the new retropie install will not be using the same key. Mac OS tells you though and tells you what file you have to edit to remove that log.
