    RPI 3
    4.1 from downloaded SD Image
3.5 jack for small speaker sound / bluetooth headset (its a portable project)

So I kinda sorta got bluetooth headphones to work. The old instruction on this board don't work due to Raspbian Jessie / a Bluez a bluetooth package dropping support. Another post just says pulse audio doesn't work well with emulation station, but no real solution.
First off let me say I am no Linux expert, I got most of this from blind googling.

My issue is due to Bluez 5.0 no longer support direct "integration" with ALSA so I needed to installed pulseaudio and the bluetooth module for it. I followed steps from here

The issues start as it seems like pulse audio competes with however retropie does sound. Probably a race condition on who grabs control first. I have to frequently do a pulseaudio -k to kill it before I load roms or go into retropie audio settings.
Should I be using Pulseaudio? anyway to get it to run properly? I want this to be a portable (no keyboard) system

I also saw this link to a Bluetooth ALSA project I have not tried it yet. Is this something that should make my life easier? Sound I be installing random packages?
