First boot into command line.

@julian2000P Don't put a space. emulationstation All one word.
-
my mistake it should be emulationstation, I have used it correct on my pi
-
-
I will have a look, but that's my first pi and I'm still a beginner
-
@julian2000P Just type each command and enter. When the script runs you will get a grey box on a blue background. Choose basic install.
-
I typed in these three commands:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install git lsb-releaseshould I also type in these?:
git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup.git
sudo ./retropie_setup.sh -
@julian2000P yes. They are 2 separate commands.
-
Just do and type exactly what the guide says.
-
I typed in all five commands but nothing happened.
-
@julian2000P Nothing at all. No errors or command not found or bash errors. Literally nothing?
-
after typing in 'sudo apt-get update' some errors occurred
-
@julian2000P Have you downloaded the correct image? i.e. Not the first one for Pi 0 and 1?
-
I'm sorry. You need to be more specific if you want help. I can't drag the information from you. Anyway, good luck. Perhaps someone else with more time and patience will offer assistance.
-
I downloaded it for pi 2/3
-
@julian2000P said in First boot into command line.:
after typing in 'sudo apt-get update' some errors occurred
What errors?
-
@columboscoat thank you anyway
-
at the end it says
some index files failed to download. they have been ignored, or old ones used instead -
@julian2000P What is your power supply?
-
I don't know the brand, but it has a 5 V output and 750mA
-
@julian2000P Then that is your problem. A Pi3 requires 5V@2.5A, you need to check the instructions for the Pi before installing stuff. You might just get away with it on a Pi1 but with stuff connected on a 3, no.
