Fun thing: my FANS blow when browsing this.

I've looked at some of you're other posts. It seems like you might be running an older computer. Could this be the issue? If it's an older Mac for example, I know that certain versions of Safari tended to have a lot of trouble with Ajax, in which case Firefox or Chrome become almost mandatory for a stable web experience. The fact that the site triggers your fans is what's most troubling. If you don't mind me asking, exactly what are the specs of the computer you're using here?

I browse and post off my 4 year old Kindle Fire HDX as well as my Android M phone and have no issues at all. I'd check how old your browser is mate and maybe try a newer one.

With so many up-to-date devices glitching out on you, the only thing I can think of is some sort of strange environmental issue, but I can't imagine what would cause the kind of problems you're experiencing.

My circa 2007 Macbook running Firefox 48.0.2 works quite well on this forum. I also have no problems on Chromium 55 on GalliumOS 2.1 on a circa 2015 Chromebook or on an iPhone 6S or iPad Air 2 running Safari on IOS 10.2.1

@blanka Not sure about Chromium on OS X. I'm running Chromium on GalliumOS on my Chromebook.

I have sporadic problems with the ajax not firing for continuous scrolling, so I have to refresh. Also at times the reply button doesn't work so I have to refresh. Other times the little box with orange lettering saying "connection problem" will pop up every second or so until I refresh.

This happens on both Firefox and Chrome, on both my home and work computers.

@dankcushions For me ctrl+f opens the search bar in the header. If I want to use the inbuilt browser search function I have to ctrl+f twice.

are you getting the in-topic searching? when i use it with IE 11 it works but only does the forum-wide search, not the in-topic one (which is what bugs out for me in chrome)

this describes what I get: https://community.nodebb.org/topic/9340/in-topic-searching-no-plugins-available

I have switched to the solr search backend which hopefully will produce better results than the previous db search (And may be faster).
