Re: 8Bitdo NES30 Inputs not registering with bluetooth.

Referencing back to this older post:
      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3273/8bitdo-nes30-inputs-not-registering-with-bluetooth/6
I'm having the same issues on a pi3 on the lastest version of Retropi installed from the iso from the website (all stock).
I can connect the controller, but once I try to configure it, none of the button inputs are being registered. I've also tried booting the controller while holding "R" to enter the alternative mode, but still nothing working.

Anyone else having this issue or know of a fix?

@dirthurts did you follow this guide ? https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Setting-up-an-8bitdo-Bluetooth-controller

Hi, and thanks for the reply.
Yes, I followed that exact guide actually. I followed it three times with three different firmware revisions for the controller too, hoping that was the issue.

@dirthurts Make sure you have the latest non beta firmware - no need to try an older one. Are you saying no buttons are being registered when loading Emulation Station ? Does it say it has found a controller ? Has the controller paired correctly ? Did you try and re-pair with the latest firmware ?

I can pair the controller in the bluetooth menu (it detects it by name and everything), but when I get back to the main menu and press buttons, the configuration/detected menu never pops up.
I'm on the latest firmware currently.

@dirthurts the configuration menu won't pop up if you already have a controller configured that is plugged in (or you have configured a keyboard).

To reset ES input you can do type from a terminal

                sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_packages.sh emulationstation clear_input

Thanks BuZz! I'll try that in the morning. I'd had my keyboard connected the entire time, so that's likely the issue.
