Also please note some games may not have adequate artwork to complete the overlay so may be passed over for the next in line.

I'm just wondering if there a certain demographic this is skewing towards? I ask because the most recent game listed is from maybe 1982 or about, correct? ...for my generation (who most likely started with Nintendo in ~1986), the only place they would have ever even seen arcade games like those listed is at run-down pizza joints and the like (don't mean to be harsh, but that's literally the only type of places I've ever seen any of these games at).

@Dochartaigh My list basically came from the link below. However I did expect that their would be some that were not going to like the list. Thats is way I have 21 picks though and I figure it better to have some overlays than none if UDb23 is up to it that is.

@Dochartaigh In retrospect I wish I could have find a poll that allowed you to input you own top ten games of choice then give us a total.

Whatever the choice please keep in mind that the game should be a libretro core supported game (e.g. lr-mame2003, lr-fbanext..).
Other emulators may have different screen ratio (=different game area size) and/or overlay cfg standards.

@Dochartaigh What games would you like to have overays for ? Often for more recent games they're already available on the web (requiring minor adaptation in some cases).
I personally prefer the "classics" as finding rare material + restoring and adapting is part of the challenge (read: fun).

with only 21 games listed--all important classics--don't we want overlays for all of them?

Of course we do but unless your the one making them we just have to go with what is given to us as I am sure they take both time and know how to do.

Absolutely. Overlays mostly made from scratch starting from original flyers and cabinet artwork.
It requires extensive research on the web, fixing, composing and editing the image to best fit Lr-mame actual game area(s).
Not forgetting often required vectorizing work.
                                  This means hours.

Part of it is my fault, I won't release an overlay unless it's top quality (to me).
                                  :-)
It still is fun and even "challenging": otherwise I wouldn't do it.
