I've been using my RP on a 19" Dell monitor and running FBA and lr-mame2010 no problem. Used an HDMI to VGA cable. I switched my setup to my 55" HDTV with an HDMI cable and now the performance is unplayable with FBA and MAME. The audio is very choppy and playback is slow. Why is performance taking a hit when using a different audio/video output?

@dankcushions I didn't change anything in the settings. Would the resolution change on it's own going from PC monitor to HDTV?

I figured it out. In the Retropie menu, I had to go into Audio options and change the audio output from 3.5mm Stereo to HDMI because I went from using a PC monitor with the 3.5mm out to full HDMI A/V on my TV. Now FBA and everything else plays smooth and sounds fine.
