Fix runcommand

@rbaker 4.19 upgraded from 3.8. After upgrade N64 stopped working, removed last line (plymoth something) from command.txt and now I see this retro pi login crap but cannot access the run command config for emulators. I also see retropie login before the rom loads. Roms are slow to load taking 30-60 seconds.

Theres no such thing as retropie login.
Soo... you can see why it would be hard help you :) Screenshot would help.

@GinJa that is a Raspbian login screen. RetroPie itself doesn't have a login (RetroPie is not an OS).

Which Plymouth line did you remove? The new Plymouth disable setting in cmdline.txt is required. You may do better to use a new image if you have manually changed some settings and are not sure what.

So setup and reconfigure a new image. So far 100 hours and counting configuring. 10 playing....

@GinJa nice attitude. You may find people won't want to give up their time to help if you are going to complain.

@BuZz just stating a general concern with opportunity cost (wasting time for something that is extremely unstable vs learning a new skill, etc.). Maybe others share my frustration and have given up. Maybe my expressed frustrations will help make this better. I really would like for it to succeed.

Hmm. Only way you spent 100 hours configuring is if you dove into a lot customization. Most of us on the forum probably do that, but its usually because we like to....
Did you make a backup? Just reimage using your backup. If you didnt... well why on earth would you upgrade after 100hrs of config. :/

100 hours? What were you doing? Today: download image, burn image - 15 mins. Configure a controller 2 mins. Transfer 150 roms - 3 mins. Edit retroarch for shaders and hotkeys - 30 secs. Reboot. Done. When I first did it, it probably took an hour. Then you can start tweaking properly. 100 hours is nonsense.

@rbaker hmm, lucky you had no issues with controllers or getting n64 to work properly, or dreamcast. I assume you never had your sd card corrupted either. Lucky you.

@GinJa Nope, I plugged in a Ps3 controller, no issues. Plugged in an ibuffalo, no problems, Plugged in a keyboard no problems. Plugged in an ipac with a few problems. Then I went brave and tried a PS4 controller and that worked too! All via emulationstation. The only editing I did was for hotkeys. I make sure that the SD stays good by shutting down the Pi using the correct methods and I use genuine verified cards. I don't try to get N64 or Dreamcast working properly because we are on a Pi. I can run those on a PC. "Coming from a software development background" you know all this right? Or, you might be complacent due to your knowledge so you may have ignored the detailed wiki or even paid someone for an illegal build, I don't know, but, I have to say that I stand by my original comment, 100 hours is nonsense and you know it's an exaggeration by about 10x

Speaking as a "non-expert", it clearly does. If you listen and read carefully. I have never had an issue relating directly to retropie and have shaders, arcade sticks, hot keys, attract modes all working.

@GinJa If you read half of the posts of people having "problems" though, you find about 90% of them have not bothered to read the wiki or search the forum to see if this has been asked previously or documented fixes there. Another 8% are about MAME and not understanding how those ROMs work. About 2% are actual issues.
I work in IT and have done for 13 years. Prior to that I messed about with computers in my own time, so I know my way about hardware and software OK enough. Anyone coming to this project, built on a Pi which is specifically designed to be a LEARNING tool, and wants it to be plug and play has been mis-informed.
As far as my experience goes with RetroPie, it can be plug and play. Or it can be as complex as you want it to be, but on the whole it's much more plug and play that most Pi projects out there considering the vast array of integrated components and config.
