Controller Dreamcast works in BIOS but not in game

Hi all !!

Pi Model : Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
Power Supply used: 5V - 3A
RetroPie Version Used : 4.1
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website + Update from Retropie-Setup
USB Devices connected: Green Asia Electronics USB GamePad (PSX adaptator) + Keyboard Logitech in USB
Controller used: Green Asia Electronics USB GamePad (PSX adaptator)
Guide used: Wiki Retropie
Emulator: Reicast

So I installed the Dreamcast emulator and I was able to launch my game.

My problem :
Reicast starts on the bios, I can change the time and navigate the menu perfectly. Once the game starts, I can validate / cancel / exit but I can't move.

The game is Shenmue Disk 1

If you have problems for mapping your controller, you have a script called "reicast-joyconfig" for mapping any standard controller.
I use a bluetooth cheap controller and I run this script and works great with reicast.
You have further information on Wiki Retropie reicast at the end of the page.

Near the bottom is a post by RyuX_SoundLab that details a process that worked for me (which I'll paste below for posterity in case the reddit page changes). There are also some sample controller config files about halfway down on this wiki page: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Dreamcast

I found a script called reicast_joyconfig (sorry i am new to reddit dont know how to paste it properly)

Download the script into your ~/.reicast directory then
sudo chmod +x reicast_joyconfig.py
sudo python reicast_joyconfig.py
Then follow the instructions After you are finished note down the correct button assignments and put them into your cfg file in
~/.reicast/mappings/
if you are not sure what is the correct file, just look into
~/.reicast/emu.cfg
which file is used

Did you find a solution to this?

I'm having the exact same issue, only it is on every game. Some controls will work, some won't, but within the Dreamcast menu itself, the controller mappings are absolutely fine! I have done all the mappings, joyconfigs, emu.cfg, followed the wiki, it seems there is no clear answer on this.

@TitQuentin I figured it out!!!

Once you have done all your mappings and pointed the emu.cfg file to the correct controller mapping, there is one more change to make.

You need to change reicast_input to 0 instead of 1 in /opt/retropie/configs/all/autoconf.cfg.

That got it working for me.
