I just newly set up my pi and can not get any sound through the HDMI. I can on my audio jack. I have been looking through the forums and people seem to have the best succes writting on the command config, where do I find this said command config so I can input the said text to force the HDMI.

I went to one of the settings with in the pi settings and switched to forced HDMI and that didn't even work.

@gotwood3001 you have to reboot anytime you switch something in /boot/config.txt

If you read the documentation it will answer 99% of your questions: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/

@gotwood3001 If you exit emulationstation with F4, you will be taken to the command prompt. From there you can edit files with the nano text editor. There is a much easier way though to edit /boot/config.txt and that is to use winscp or putty to access it via the network. Read more. Video tweaks here.
