      Hello everyone I have the raspberry pI 3 running retropie 4.0 or 4.1 not sure which it is off the top of my head but it's the most recent. I'm not getting any sound from my hdmi connection while inside of emulation station none at all, in the menus or running emulators.

      But when I which the audio output to the 3.5 mm jack and plug in my head phones it works great but I'm not wanting to play games with headphones on.

      What can I do to fix my problem? I have tried googling the answer but everything I have found was outdated and didn't look like the most up to date bios in sumo nano. I know there is lines of code I have to put in somewhere but not quite sure which heading to put it under.

      I hope I get a reply back soon aND thanks to anyone that can help.

        @mountaindew117 in /boot/config.txt you need to remove the hashtag from this line:

        #hdmi_drive=2

        So it looks like this:

        hdmi_drive=2

        Then save and after it finishes saving exit and reboot
