      Hi all!
My name is Andrea and I am new to the forum.
Six years ago I build my first cabinet based on project mame (http://www.koenigs.dk/mame/eng/stepprojectmame.htm).
I used an old windows xp PC and Maximus Arcade and here below you can find some pictures of work in progress and final version of my RanxCab!
In my new home, I do not have space for the big RanxCab, so I give it to one of my best friends and I've started a new project for a "table" cabinet. I am using a Raspberry Pi 3 with RetroPie and I am waiting for joystick, buttons and iPac2 interface that should be delivered before the end of the week.
I would like to paint it yellow and "pac man themed"... suggestions on theme, and customizations are really appreciated. I will give you update while my work goes on!

You're old cabinet looks really good! So you're going to build a bartop arcade? This should be fun and bartops are much easier to move around than a full cabinet. My best friend has a full arcade cabinet and he sometimes wishes he had a bartop.

I have a questions on your old cabinet. I see that you have two black buttons below all your other buttons and joysticks for both players. What do those 2 buttons do and do they get in the way while playing games? Personally I would put them either on the front of the cabinet or above the joystick in line with the white player 1 & 2 buttons.

          Thank you! :)
Yes, I am building a bartop arcade. And yes, it should be much easier to manage in house!
For black buttons you are right. I mapped Coin1 and Coin 2 and also ESC and RETURN buttons but they were "annoying" in that position because players often click on them. So I've moved them on the side of the cabinet and added a coin mechanism. I will add pictures soon to show new "layout" and customizations added for my friend!

A question for you: I am planning to use mame, snes and amiga... how many buttons do you think I need to manage games? 4 buttons per players, coin button, player 1 and player 2 start, select and start... do I miss something?
Thank you very much for your help!
