    NES emulator

Which one? Having watched the video, I cannot see anything. Try the other emulator options.

On the movie it is not good te see.
The emulator that i use is lr-fceumm.

I have tryed the other one but it does the same.
I have set the settings to widescreen so i have the game fullscreen.
But if i set it to 4:3 it is stuttering to.

It is not really stuttering, i don't know the right text.
If i type the dutch wordt "hakkelen" google says "stammer"
        It is difficult to film.

The screen jumps always a little (maybe that is the right text).

Make sure you enable "Game Mode" on your TV and you might have a look at the documentation about Speed Issues:
          https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Speed-Issues

I bought a canakit pi b+ kit a few years ago and installed an old version of retropie .. in my limited memory brain i feel like it was version 2. Something. Well it ran awesome. Nes emulation was what i was after.. i wired my own arcade controls to the gpio..

Fast forward two years of really no use and the whole pi awaiting an arcade cabinet build.. i thought id see what was new in the retropie world so i downloaded the new version which is super streamlined now.. but now the shock sets in... I cannot run any nes roms at anywhere near normal speed...

Has anyone else had this issue with newer versions of retropie? Ive tried another sdcard. And lowering framerate to 640/480..

@zulueffendi Fine here. I'm using a pi2. Maybe your older pi is too slow. Oc it if you can and go to retropie setup and choose Update All Installed Packages so it also updates the emulators.

@zulueffendi try getting or switching to lr-nestopia if you are using lr-fceumm. Or vise versa. One of them is to slow on a b+. Plus you probably need to use lr-pisnes for snes and lr-picodrive for genesis

@edmaul69 i switched to nestopia and overclocked. It is much better but still slow. Its strange the nes emulation worked 100℅ a couple years ago,.. so imagine my disappointment

I'm experiencing this myself 100%. Everything from like RetroPie 3.8 to 4.1.5 has Nintendo being 100% proper (60 FPS nearly constantly, no stuttering). Whenever I upgrade any Pi to the newest 4.1.11 version of RetroPie the lowly NES emulation stutters and stammers. WAY more evident on my Pi Zero 1.3's, but have noticed it just a tiny bit on my Pi 3 as well. Switching to lr-fastnes cured it but that isn't supposed to be as accurate or as stable as the default lr-fceumm.

As I always say: this has been tested on multiple Pi's, multiple installs, multiple power supplies, multiple SD cards, etc.

It is also with the megadrive emulator.
Is that working perfect with a older retropie version?

Megadrive/Sega Genesis never gave me any issues, even on the Pi Zero 1.3 it's been excellent.

                            I found this document:

                            https://www.avforums.com/review/panasonic-as600-tx-42as600b-led-lcd-Full-HD-tv-review.10558

                            Gaming Performance

"By switching into the Game Mode from the Options submenu in the Picture Menu, the AS600 displayed an input lag around 48 milliseconds, which is below average for a Full HD TV. For the causal gamer it won't really matter but the more dedicated game players will undoubtedly find that too high for their needs."

So you might experiment with this. It sounds like it might add an input lag on that TV :-(

There is no game mode option in the submenu in the picture menu.
I don't know why they say that.
I have found a manual from my tv and can't find anything about game mode.

@knorde According to the manual there are some post processing modes available. try changing some of the video processing modes (noise reduction, 1080p Pixel Direct, etc) and see if it helps.

@knorde game mode isnt always in video section. It is often in like extras section or something else. Look in all menus for it.

I have looked in all the menu's but i can't find it.
I have tested it on my tv on my bedroom.
                                          It is a Tatung V32MCHK.

With the default emulator it is stuttering again but with the nestopia emulator it works like a charm!
No stuttering and it works perfect!

But on the tv in the living room it is stuttering again on that emulator.
It looks like i have to find a good combination from emulator and tv.
