-
Hi there,
The specs:
Pi Model or other hardware: PI 3 B
Power Supply used: 5.1 V 2,5 A
RetroPie Version Used: 4.01
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: None
Controller used: PS3 wireless
Error messages received: NoI have 2 questions:
- Is there any way to unscrape?
- Where is the scrape folder (so i can check if the images are gone)?
I have searched it but i can't find a answer :)
-
@knorde Info is in the wiki under Scraping Games. Specifically the section headed Where are My Scraped Images and Metadata Saved.
You'd need to delete or rename the XML file relating to the system you want to clear and re-scrape from the location here.
It wasn't hard to find in the wiki...

I think i make a fault or something because the only thing i can find in the wiki is: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Take-and-Scrape-Your-Own-ScreenshotsWhat do i wrong haha?
If i delete the xml file will the image itself deleted to?
And if i delete a game will the xml file delete automaticly? The reason i will know that that is when i delete a game i will that the imgage (scraped from the db) delete to.
-
@knorde Right hand side of the wiki, there is a section specifically for scraping games. If you scroll down there's a section headed as I said in my last post. https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/scraper this is the page
No need to delete the game, the XML games list is what holds info on the games, so delete it and restart EmulationStation to recreate the XML then re-scrape.
Oh, and make sure that you have exited EmulationStation before messing with the XML files.

What i can't understand at the moment is if images and xml files are deleted automaticly when i delete a game.
As example, if we don't like a rom and we will remove it what we have to do then?Is only deleting the rom enough or have we to delete xml files and the image from that rom (scrape)?
-
@knorde Deleting a ROM file will not delete it from the gamelist, nor will it remove the image(s) for it.

@MWGemini
When i delete a rom i don't see it in the list in emulatior station.
Now i have questions:- What are the right steps (step by step) to remove compleet a rom / game.
- What are the right steps (step by step) to remove compleet a rom / game with image (scrape).
-
Someone?
-
Not sure what the "right" steps are but what I do is this.
- ) Access RPi via network on PC and delete rom from roms folder.
2.) Access RPi via FTP and go to the downloaded images folder and delete the roms image from there.
3.) Quit Emulationstation, either using F4 or through the GUI. Then again via FTP access the gamelist and edit/delete that certain roms metadata entry.
That's it. Too many steps if you ask me but that's the only way I know thus far. It's not a big deal for a few roms but if you have to do this for a few hundred it can be a very tedious work and consume a nice afternoon to get it done.

@markyh444 I did your instructions and deleted the downloaded images and xml games list file on samba shares because I was tired of looking at the scrapes art on emulation station.
Only problem is that I rebooted emulation station and there is no recreated xml file, I checked on samba shares too. Not sure why there’s no new xml...
