[Testing] Kodi 17.0 stable/final available for RetroPie!

this is awesome tyvm
working well on my pi 2b
-
@Rascas hi, do you know where I can find the file to change that line of text. It won't detect my wiiU controller anymore.
-
@juancaar Man, from the line that you have written, the only thing I understood is that you are trying to setup a wiiU remote. Well I never tried wii remotes, but there is a binary package for wii remotes in the repo, don't know it will work with that. Please explain better your problem, start with this:

@Rascas hi, sorry. I got it to work. The WiiU classic controller. I just had to set it up. On Jarvis it worked automatically without having to do anything on Kodi, but here I had to go into input to set it up from scratch. Thanks!
-
can we update to final version yet??
-
@G-Member Yes, it is already available for install/update via RetroPie-Setup.
-
@Rascas Seems a lot of people including myself are getting a first run error on Krypton. Addons27.db is empty and needs to be deleted, then Kodi launches fine.

I have a few friends and family running OSMC and this has been an issue there as well.
-
@mediamogul It was easily sorted with a look at the log and a quick google but as you know not everyone will do that!
-
Hi guys, im new in this topic but i tried install kodi from binary and not working, it says 17.0 in update by method retropie setup but is non functional, my question is:: this method in page is only way to install? And my kodi not open after update and i tried reinstall but not sucess, it go back to ports screen😢😢!
If is possible help me to uninstall and install from correct method! Thanx for all and sorry my bad english😁😁 -
@mediamogul hmm, I just rebooted my OSMC and had no issues after that.
But whatever, after an hour of testing I can say that Krypton is not for me. In my setup the sound is worst than on Jarvis and so far I've not found a Skin that I like (I I really hate the big widgets on the Mimic Skin. They are covering my custom wallpaper). -

That is most probably an indication that you have problematic addons installed. Rebuilding the database may solve that problem in some cases. The log always helps ;)

@Rascas It did. Can you define "problematic"?
-
@Rascas OFFTOPIC: Viva Portugal!!!! Parabéns, o PiPPLWARE já se está a internacionalizar.
-
Device: RPi 3 (check my sig)
RetroPie 4.1.5
Kodi 17
Controller: iBuffalo USB SNES gamepadI installed Kodi 16 at first and the gamepad worked fine. Now after upgrading to Kodi 17 I went to the input setup menu but no button click gets registered. I have the Kodi controller which looks like a xbox360 pad and I additionally installed the SNES pad but it just simply won't recognize any input. It says Press A and a push A but nothing. The countdown timer starts and ends the input registration phase.
Anyone having an iBuffalo gamepad with Kodi 17 up and running?
UPDATE!
Cannot setup any gamepad or joystick. Just tried my wireless 360 arcade stick. No luck. Right now only the keyboard works. -
@FlyingTomahawk Yeah, my iBuffallo worked no problem. Did you hot plug the controller? Try rebooting with the controller attached and try again. (EDIT: Yeah, I saw that, sorry. -Did you add the SNES controller in the options?)
-
Yes I did add the SNES controller from the get more option. Also rebooted a couple times. No luck.
Can I or do I have to edit an xml file somewhere? -
@FlyingTomahawk File path: /home/pi/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/peripheral.joystick/resources/buttonmaps/xml/linux
File name: USB_2-axis_8-button_gamepad_8b_2a.xml
Content:
<?xml version="1.0" ?> <buttonmap> <device name="USB,2-axis 8-button gamepad" provider="linux" buttoncount="8" axiscount="2"> <configuration /> <controller id="game.controller.snes"> <feature name="a" button="0" /> <feature name="b" button="1" /> <feature name="down" axis="+1" /> <feature name="left" axis="-0" /> <feature name="leftbumper" button="4" /> <feature name="right" axis="+0" /> <feature name="rightbumper" button="5" /> <feature name="select" button="6" /> <feature name="start" button="7" /> <feature name="up" axis="-1" /> <feature name="x" button="2" /> <feature name="y" button="3" /> </controller> </device> </buttonmap>

Some addons are bad programmed, others not updated for a very long time, etc. This can cause problems on Kodi updates. Most of what ppl call "Builds" can cause problems also.
@FlyingTomahawk In Kodi 17, you shouldn't need to edit xml keymaps, specially with that joystick which is confirmed to be working. Did you follow the configuration steps in the first post ? The log file may help to see what's your problem.

i just want to say: i hate the new look of kodi. i hate the new "funcionality". i hate it all, wish this update never happend :/
