What's your favorite game Artwork ?

@Lyle_JP I'm not really a fan of snakes but these graphics are impressive.
The game's really nice actually as the whole Gradius shmup series.
They all share high quality artwork.

As with the 2 above, another outstanding Konami box art (Castlevania). They had the best covers/flyers of the '80s.

Universal's cabinets were really particular:

The Goonies are good enough for me.
-
That's an overlay but I like Chelnov's art (Atomic Runner) :
-
@Nataq also overlays of course are included in "what's your favourite artwork?" ;-)
-
Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana)
I still want to get a print of that some day (there are people selling posters of it without the text overlays, but I have no idea how good any of them are).

I really do miss the era where you could find commercial artwork like this displayed in a public space. It has an amazing juxtaposition of being both grotesque and beautiful. The choice of color also reminds me of Mary Blair.

It's just baffling... -
I have always been a fan of Phoenix. My dad had some of these machines in the early 80's when I was a youngster. Spent 1000's of hours on it.

@mediamogul ALL the SMS boxart was pretty crappy, this is a confusing low.
-
Most of the games were fantastic, but the white grid pattern and overly-simplistic art style really made them look like basement-level computer shareware titles.

My choice is a little newer: I'm a Graphic Designer by trade, and a huge inspiration for me when studying in the late 90's/early 00's was The Designers Republic (hence the avatar). They have worked with quite a few people in the past: PWEI and Aphex Twin to name a few, but they also contributed massively to the early Wipeout series. I'm a minimal design man deep down, but I loved the artwork for the original Wipeout-and the team logo's were just a thing of beauty!

Being a big fighting game fan, I love all the artwork from the Capcom Cps1-2-3 era. Here are a few classics:
