Where to copy Mame Bios?
-
Hi everyone!
I have some MAME games (gauntlet, galaga...) that don't work. Once I open them, black screen, and back to the game menu.
I think it is because I need to copy the MAMEBIOS, What folder should I copy the mamebios to?
Thanks so much in advance, and thanks for Retropie, it´s a great project!

As it says on top of each page in this forum:
Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-firstPlease check the docs at that link first; as you will find out it's impossible to help you if you don't have at least some basic understanding on how Retropie works and, even more, if you don't provide any information about hardware, mame core and specific rom/romset you're using.

The BIOS file just needs to be in the same directory as the zip file of the game. For example, a Neo Geo game, you need the Neo Geo BIOS in the same directory. It gunks up your game list in EmulationStation, but it works well.
For other MAME help, be sure to check out Floob's extensive post

@obsidianspider Still the games he mentions are old classics so surely not using/needing NeoGeo bios :-)

@UDb23 Yeah, no BIOS required. Just another person who hasn't read the incredibly easy to follow MAME guide from Floob.

There are over 900 threads on this topic. You just need to read the documentation. In short, you do not have the correct version of roms for the emulator you are trying to use. What is "mamebios" by the way? and, what emulator are you trying to use?

Nintendo's failed attempt at Mario's evil twin before Wario came on the scene?
