New 4.1.20 RetroPie images for testing
-
@Rascas raspbian is at kernel 4.9 now. Unless I'm having an old age moment
-
@BuZz Not in the repos (packaged), only if you are using rpi-update ;) And using rpi-update is generally considered unstable. But that shouldn't be a problem, although I didn't test it with emulators. I just wanted to know if you did this to include/fix some gamepad driver or something like it. And thanks for your work :D
-
@Rascas Good catch. 4.4.50 at the minute.

ODroid-C2
too bad we still can't downgrade kodi to 16.
Kodi 17 just doesn't work good with builds. so many addons are disabled when installing. 16 on the other hand works perfectly. -
@pattaboy That's because "builds" are bloated heaps of crap. Start from a clean install and add what you need. That is the best Kodi advice you will ever get.
You CAN downgrade to 16.1 Jarvis, but can we stop posting about fecking Kodi here! Start a new thread if you have an issue! -
I'd like to know more about the USB rom service. I use the current setup to keep all my roms on an external drive and it seems to be working well, is there a change to how this will work?
-
@ghrayfahx I'm on 4.1.19 and reading ROMs from a USB drive works well. I think this is just a note about the upgrade from the 4.1 base image which is now quite a few months and iterations of RetroPie old.

Wheezy support removed.
(sorry, couldn't resist)
-
@Lyle_JP I don't know if it's a cultural thing or an age gap thing, but I have no idea who that is or what the joke is.
-

-
@Lyle_JP, @obsidianspider: Ahh, so both a cultural and age gap thing then. Good to know. Cheers.

The image is built based on the last Raspbian Lite image, so I may have just imagined being on 4.9 on another system I was testing. My bad - certainly no rpi-update is run anyway.
[edit] unless the last raspbian lite has an unpackaged newer kernel - which could be possible since they pushed out a quick zero w fix
[edit] nope, it's just my memory - images are definitely 4.4.50 as has been mentioned. will edit first post.

Downloaded the new image, went to install the Virtualboy emulator.... but can't seem to find it anywhere.

Ability to set custom ES themes in configs/all/platforms.cfg (can any setting in RetroPie-Setup/platforms.cfg).
What does this mean? I must have missed this development.
-
-
@AlexMurphy Yea I actually tend to agree.. but I wasn't aware that ES was being worked on again. Who can we talk to about getting the kiosk/child mode fork merged in with the newest? I really rely on that more than anything but it has the issue with subfolders still which is a killer.
-
Also thank you @BuZz and others for keeping RetroPie going great! Just sent a donation. I have started an arcade cabinet side job on etsy and I've customized retro pi for it, so I will be making a donation for each unit I sell. Keep up the good work (and please find someone to get kiosk mode into the core ES :P)

Good job !!!
But i tried to connect to my pi Zero W in SSH with Putty and he say "my network connection isn't established."
I can download update, my wifi connection is correct, ping also, samba work arlready, ...
No problem with other devices (PI2 and PI3) -
@figolu31 did you read my post? I detail SSH.
Please do not post on this thread for help - this is a thread for testing before release. If you need help you should not be using this image.
