Hey I used the option in ES to boot my Pi into CLI. Following the manual on this page: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#how-do-i-boot-to-the-desktop-or-kodi

Now I want to change it back. How do I do this?

typing emulationstation (without spaces, I am sure) gives me:

/usr/bin/emulationstation: line 21: /opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation/emulationstation.sh: No such file or directory

I launched the RetroPie-Setup script from the CLI. In there I went to script>>Configuration / tools>>autostart and changed it back to Start EmulationStation at Boot.
I then rebooted, but I still go straight to the CLI

      Pi Model: 3
Power Supply: Adapter that came with the Pi.
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.1.21
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website.
USB Devices connected: 2 (keyboard and SNES controller)
      Controller used: keyboard
      Error messages received: (see above)

If you navigate to /opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation/ is emulationstation.sh in there? Just trying to go after the low hanging fruit before looking for other possible weirdness.

@dosch said in Back to ES from CLi:

I launched the RetroPie-Setup script from the CLI. In there I went to script>>Configuration / tools>>autostart and changed it back to Start EmulationStation at Boot.

I just did this again, but then used the option in the same menu to reboot the system, instead of doing a reboot from the CLI. Now it boots back into ES.

Thank you for your help @obsidianspider, but I guess it fixed itself ;-)
