      For the Atari 800 Emulator in RetroPie, can I play .CAS (cassette) file games?

      I see there is an option to load cassette images in Atari 800 Emulator but I dont know how to get it to work.

      I am trying to play STAR LEAGUE BASEBALL in a .CAS file - cassette file.
      I have successfully gotten the game's loading screen it says STAR LEAGUE BASEBALL IS LOADING, but it just stays that way, never loads.

      What is the proper procedure for loading a cassette game?

      I just want to add, that all the games I want to play are available in cartridge and disk files, I however as a kid played them as cassettes, and so I'm just trying to recreate the experience and load .CAS files.

      Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

        Etaprime did a great video tutorial on this system if you are having trouble with the setting up of the bios

          The emulator itself supports both raw and .cas images.
          I do not believe the scraper supports adding these images, so you would have to create a playlist manually.

          The emulators.cfg can be modified to include the following commands:
          -tape <filename> Attach cassette image (CAS format or raw file)
          -boottape <filename> Attach cassette image and boot it
          -tape-readonly Set the attached cassette image as read-only

          I'd imagine it could work with this content in emulators.cfg:
          atari800="echo %ROM: -\ % > /dev/null;/opt/retropie/emulators/atari800/bin/atari800 -config /opt/retropie/configs/atari800/atari800.cfg -boottape %ROM%"
          default = "atari800"

          Please note that i have not tried this myself.
