nvm i got it working I thought i had the image in the sd card. it needs to be somewhere on your computer and select H then it makes the image on your card.
Also I need a remote to work with kodi the remote on my cheep tv doesn't work. -
I ended fixing my sound issue with this https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/3evgyi/retropie_30_no_sound/
but now it's stuck at 4:3 ratio how do I put it back to full screen. 4:3 is good for the systems but not kodi. -
I was expecting better emulation. newer neo geo games don't work. Like any of the king of fighters and svs chaos wich really sucks. Battletoads for nes is glitchy. most of the other games I tried ran ok thou.

Neogeo games work fine, I'd say they're near perfect. Get the right roms. For NES it will vary, I use fceumm(the default) because nestopia had glitches in a game I was playing. Switch to one or the other. Overall, the nes emulation is rather good too once tweaked. I also switch the default crap palette to unsaturated.
I tried Battletoads in fceumm, zero issues. -
mame plays neo geo? is it better then the one stand alone one. Where do i put the neogeo games in what folder there's arcade mame-libretro and mame-mame4all.
im surprised it plays dragon ball z hyper dimension fine thats one of the special chip games for snes. -
@Deltax5 Mame and FBA. I find FBA works even better than Mame, but you must make sure you get the correct Neogeo.bios for the version of Mame or FBA you are using.

MAME is a highly accurate, modular arcade emulator and Neo-Geo MVS titles are arcade games. The Neo-Geo AES and CD home console units played the same games in a different physical format with only the odd change of start screens to be found in the actual software. Not every MVS game was released for the AES and CD systems and the latter two had no exclusive titles, so the MVS arcade library is really the only option if you want the possibility of playing the entire run of Neo-Geo games.

svs choas doesn't work nore some of the king of fighter but 98 works
-
@Deltax5 svc chaos works. All neogeo games work. If you've cared to click on the link on my previous post, you can learn about romsets and getting the right version for the emulator you want to use. I'm using fba.
-
I've always considered switching over to FBA for Neo-Geo titles, but wondered if it was worth the time. Are there a few sticking points that make FBA a better choice for these games, such as speed or compatibility that are missing from MAME?
-
@mediamogul
There's a noticeable speed difference in FBA if you're using a non-oc'd pi2. This leads me to say that FBA requires LESS cpu power to run neogeo games. On a pi3 you won't notice it. FBA is also from 2016, along with its romset. I'm sure some progress in its emulation has improved since...2003. I generally run everything I can in FBA, and whatever runs slow I fall back to FBA2012 (konami 4player games on my oc'd pi2), then MAME2003. -
Good to know. I haven't taken a look at the state of FBA on RetroPie since the last updates. I might have to kick the tires a bit sometime soon.

Meh PLEXER doesn't work even with the fix i found which works fine on other platforms and couldn't download a app on kodi for some reason which works fine on other platforms.
-
@Deltax5 if you are talking about Plexus, yes it works, you just have to find a version (it was discontinued along time) that as/downloads the modules.
-
it's the newest
-
The newest is more than one year old, the thing is, it was considered "illegal" by the somebody of the xbmc foundation, despite the addon itself doesn't have any illegal content, so we stop developing it and we removed all modules. Any addon that you find with that name on the internet now, it is a copy of it with the modules readded, or broken. You have to search better.

For atari 2600 and 5200 how do I configure the controls. Is it keyboard only?
Kodi, Plexus the streams don't work.
I still need a good remote for kodi -

https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Atari-2600#controls
https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Atari-800-and-5200#controlsYou configure lr-stella just like any other RetroArch core. However, the keypads and therefore all keypad games are not supported. Also, there is no option for analog control, making the paddle games pretty much unplayable. The standalone stella emulator allows for analog controls and the keypads, but the controls must be mapped manually from it's own interface. 5200 games on the atari800 emulator have full support for analog controls, keypads and trackballs, but every setting has to be made from an external text editor, as setting anything in the native GUI corrupts the preference file.

Yes they work if you follow what I said earlier, most of the Plexus addon versions available on the internet don't work because the modules download links are broken.
