@AlexMurphy Yeah, I was trying to avoid that process but I might just do that since it's usually the latest updates.

@xman73 Yeah, it can take a while to build from source but it might just be the fix you need. You seem to have everything else as it should be.

@AlexMurphy I rebuilt or installed from source and the same issue of it appearing to start and then back to the mame rom menu. I re-uploaded my 0.139 roms to see if it was that but it doesn't appear to be that. Seems like source from March 12 and on is having issues.

If you have an older mame2010_libretro.so that works, I could test that.

Hi xman73 I try to use lr-mame2010 but I have the next dudes...
What app you use to filter the roms? (compatible, uncompatible, clone, parent...using the compatibility .dat file) ((for mame4all I use moveroms but I dont know what app I need for lr-mame2010))
What is the folder of samples, chds and bios file?? the same of the roms? another folder? (what folder?)
              Thanks forum!!

I have the exact same problem on 4.2. Haven't found a solution.

@oleguer I use Romcenter and ClrMame to make sure they are compatible (rom) to the emulator. I use non-merged rom sets and have them all in the mame-libretro roms folder all zipped (.zip, .ZIP). Some roms work better or are more compatible with mame2003 and others are better in mame2010. I make sure I use the correct rom with the correct emulator.

@koukakou Did you update from 4.1 or are you on a clean 4.2 image?

@xman73 it's from a clean image, with lr-mame2010 installed from binary

@xman73 you put all samples, chds and bios files on the same roms folder?? chds and samples are different folders and subfolders on mame emulator..... and you compress the chd files to .zip?? in the mame original you cant zip the chds files.... thanks for your answer!

Ok, I was able to run lr-mame2010 this way but it doesn't solve my issue...

                        1. Reformat SD card and put Retropie 4.1 image on it
                        2. Install lr-mame2010 from binary
                        3. Ran roms for lr-mame2003 and lr-mame2010 and they work
                        4. Update all Scripts and Update all installed systems and operating system
                        5. Reboot and Retropie 4.2.1 was now installed
                        6. Ran roms for lr-mame2003 and lr-mame2010 and they still work

** At least this tells me that the lr-mame2010 binary is fine to install from.

I found a log file in /dev/shm/runcommand.log and this is what it said...any ideas?

@xman73 I upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2.1. I even uninstalled the 2010 binary and reinstalled. No issues with Journey. I downloaded my 0.139 romset and have never used clrmame or anything similar to mess with the roms.

@Darksavior Thanks for the feedback! I'm beginning to think that it's either a theme I'm using ( Eudora Theme) or something with the Launching screen.

I am using Carbon theme. Still. Different launching does not help either.
