      Hi all,
I have been trying to repurpose an old laptop into a retrobox. The machine is running ubuntu server 64 with nodm.

      Hardware: x86 PC
      OS: Ubuntu Server 16.04.1 x64
      RetroPie Version: 4.2.1
Built From: Retropie-Setup script basic install
      USB Devices connected: none
      Controller used: none

I installed nodm and set it as the default display manager with dpkg-reconfigure nodm. Then I created ~/.xsession with emulationstation as the only line in the file. ES runs on startup and the GUI shows up correctly but it doesn't receive any input from keyboard.

Any ideas what could be the issue?

One thing I have tried is to enable background input in es_settings.cfg according to this post. https://github.com/Aloshi/EmulationStation/issues/291

That still doesn't fix the issue for me.

          Hello,

Have you found a solution to this problem? I have exactly the same issue.

          Cheers,

          JP.
