My custom SNES/RPI3 build

@denisuu: Okay, that looks awesome.
@SutterKane: They could be using it for Kodi, so they could load the hard drive with movies and such.
-
@SutterKane: Yea I mainly use this for downloading stuff and media center, since the RPI is silent and doesn't use much power.
It's like a perfect fit, but I need to find a solution to have the connection stick out. The hard drive is too tick to have it on top.

I wonder if heat might be an issue with the hdd inside that plastic...
If you're gonna watch stuff at home, why not just stream your media with kodi? I'm dualbooting with Rasplex because Kodi won't decode 10bit videos properly:/. Rasplex just transcodes what the pi won't run natively. -
@Darksavior: It's mostly for using it as a permanent Deluge download center I would attach the HDD.
I don't think the heat would be too bad, since this HDD came out of an enclosure, I think the biggest problem would be fitting the connector.

I made the backplate gray and the sdcard is extended so this build is finished now :)

@itsnitro i made one for a friend of mine. I prefer the famicom/euro snes version myself. I also remember going into a game store and seeing super mario world on a super famicom before the super nes came out. That was a great moment that will stick with me forever.
-
@edmaul69 I also like the PAL one better! But I'm from Belgium so it also has more nostalgic value.

@denisuu i think the u.s. one is ugly compared to the euro/japanese one. Im not sure why there were so many systems that they changed in the u.s. The turbo grafx 16 was ugly as all hell. The pc engines were awesome. If we had a black version of the pc engine it would have been really cool. Instead we had a cool black cd with a weird adapter and the ugly console.
-
I can agree here. The famicon/euro one is more sleek while the american is more bulky.

@edmaul69 I was actually not even born when the SNES came out, so I never had one before. I was also very surprised to see there were 2 versions. I do love the old retro gaming machines a lot more then the new ones!
