Hello, I am new to retropie. that is, it is my first time trying this out.
I followed all of the directions to create my retropie on my raspberry pi 3b model and when I start it up it goes into the retropie screen, but instead of it reading 13 games available, I only see configuration. I hit the left/right keys and there seems to be nothing else there. Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong, how do I get the games available to show up? can anyone help please?

@edmaul69 this should have been addressed, code for reference so the phrase 13 games shouldn't show up at all unless he's on a really old build.

Also the answer is on the wiki.
