@freakE just because its a smw rom doesnt mean it will work. You need the specific version/region rom it states with the .ips. I use lunar ips for all my .ips needs. It will say successful but if it isnt the correct specific rom it wont work.

Maybe try a different program like Lunar IPS.

@freakE i took only the smw.ips used lunar ips and dragged the smw.ips onto the lunar ips.exe and then chose the smw.smc file and patched and it worked. I only have one US smw rom so no clue which version it is. You didnt try adding the other 2 ips files in the download did you?

@edmaul69 nope, I only used the smw.ips file. Not working. Only black screen.

This is before the rom is patched:

                  and after:

Game has bigger size. But I don´t get was is done wrong.

@freakE well i know it is a U.S. rom of super mario world.smc that works. So find a place that has more than one u.s version and try them all. Usually people use ones that are (U) [!] and possibly [prg 0]

@freakE Well, it seems that my roms were messed up.
I found the solution: use ROMclean to clean the rom.
After that I could patch the file with Lunar IPS and it worked. So if someone else maybe has the issue, use this tool. I am happy now.

@edmaul69 Thanks for your time and help
