                Ops, I had some slowdowns with the forum. I couldn't see the image... thats's why I posted "?'.
                Yes I appreciate screenshots, thanks. @HurricaneFan makes those directly on the Pi.

                      Awesome news, love your overlays @UDb23 and @simbz23!

                      Would love to see some of the Cave shooters if you're doing shmups. DoDonPachi, Espgaluda, Dangun Feveron, etc! Looking forward to whichever ones you guys come up with though. Thanks so much!

                          @UDb23 Hi, first post here.

                          I'd love to see overlays for fighting games with move lists. That would be so useful. In particular, I'd love to something like this http://www.neogeoforlife.com/images/photoalbum/album_174/518600_2981x1176.jpg for The Last Blade 2.

                              That move list is really nice artwork. As The last Blade 2 is a horizontal game there is limited black bars space on the sides of the game area to be used for graphics.
                              See Marvel vs Capcom overlay.
                              All characters' moves would not fit keeping the moves readable.

                              Options for making an overlay could be:

                              • use just selected characters
                              • reduce game area
                                or
                              • wait for 4K Pi (just kidding!)

                                  @UDb23 Thanks for the reply. I get that the screen would be crowded, but I wondered with 16 characters, whether it would be possible to put 8 on each side. It would leave little space for art and wouldn't be that pretty...

                                    @iantweed it's possible to place them. Just wondering if moves will still be readable.
                                    Will give it a try and post a draft test overlay.

                                      @UDb23 That would be amazing. If the move text is not readable, then I guess that could be scrapped - leaving just the joystick move and the button name. I mean, no one actually cares what moves are called. And if you are familiar with 2D fighting games you can pretty much guess what a move will do from its notation (e.g. quarter circle forward is likely to be a projectile).
