I tried to change my theme from Carbon to tronkyfran and got the bug. Fixed change back in ES config file.

I have 14 systems in my Retropie, updated all packages to get the 4.2 version and I had Retropie Manager by web installed. Also used the Universal XML Scraper for one of systems.

@Spectreman try to adjust your vram up or down while running your desired theme. You may need to restart emulationstation between modifications of your VRAM

Someone knows how much MB is recommended with a PI3?

I will try. But the point is that the white screen of death bug was not fixed in 4.2. They should edit that wiki page about themes.

          Another case:

            There is no they.
The wiki is open for anyone to edit, so maybe once you've found out a solution, you could add some information yourself?

@Spectreman I agree that the white screen bug is not fixed, however it has been improved immensely. The performance after the upgrade was significant, so I would consider it a major performance upgrade, but not necessarily a fix. More work still needs to be done for sure, but there are a lot of cool projects going on right now as well. You should be able to run trokyfran on a Pi3 with standard configs with 14 systems without an issue. I would again try to adjust your VRAM up or down in small amounts. Maybe 120 or 80 would work. You never shared what pi model you are running, power supply, do you have any modifications to your settings? Have you changed your gpu settings? Overclocked?
