      Hey guys!
Ok I think I figured out what to ask you all without breaking any rules.

I have retropie 4.2 installed and also installed the emulator for the Macintosh?

Does anyone know if I see "start" when I am looking into a the emulator if that the OS is installed?

Or is there some protocol to installing os 7.5?

Do not know wher and what to do next

Thanks for any and all help

@briandamico lighting hit the electrical pole across the street so i havent had power for the last four hours so i cant use my pc to help you further so i will just have to tell you to start here. You wont see macintosh until you create a .sh file for it.

thanks for the reply back Ed
if you have power again, lol, could you maybe shed some additional light on that link.
I have discovered that i have the Macintosh emulator on my main screen of retropie and when i select it, it says START.
what would you feel the next best course of action would be?

thanks again, truly thanks for taking the time!!

@briandamico first off read through this and try to set up on your pc first. You have to do this and then transfer the image file to the pi. Get apple os 8.1 and use a performa or quadra rom

@briandamico also, put the os in 16 color b&w before you stick it on the pi. I will explain why when you get to that point.

                  thanks for the info!
well i got basilisk for the mac and tried to install following this video

and could not get it to work.
just won't set up the same way.
i wonder if its bc I'm running much later OS than he in the video.
but i have all the proper files downloaded. all the rom files and os files
                  and they are unzipped

@briandamico start with the os7.5.3 like he is. You can install the os8 and os8.1 updates later. I started on 7.5.3 as well.

@edmaul69 i did everything he did in the video. but was not able to get the OS mounted and loaded like in the video.

I keep getting a message that says

"Could not start Basilisk II (So such file or directory)"

sorry to be back and forth on this so much, i appreciate the responses !!

@briandamico do you have BasiliskII and BasiliskIIGUI in the same folder? BasiliskII will boot up like a mac without the hard drive installed. As long as you have a good rom set in the BasiliskIIGUI.

@edmaul69 they are indeed in the same folder.
I used the performa rom and the quadra650 rom and both came with same result.
all proper files are in that root folder i made and set everything to boot up from.
just keeps giving the no file or directory error.

                            @edmaul69 so odd thing happened.

I decided to do what others have mentioned on the web about moving the app to the desktop, and though it didn't make sense in my situation i thought, i did it anyway.
well here is what i did.

                            1. moved main app icon to desktop. attempted to open, and save and start up. FAILED
                            2. moved main app icon back to root folder, attempted to open, save and start, FAILED
                            3. SAME as #2 above, but i for some reason decided to look in the menu drop down of basilisk for FILE and saw save and start so i decided to hit save, and then hit start and BAM!!! it opened and ran!!

so i don't know why, i don't know how but it seems that the actual start and save in the window were not working vs doing it from the file drop down window!

super super super weird and glad i decided to go further

@edmaul69 so now that i actually have this up and running on my actual mac. what would i do next to move this over to a PI via the Macintosh emulator on there (which is already present on the pi with a Start option)

                                thanks again or the help!

@briandamico i just realised, it is supposed to be blank. I still need to know those names because you need to edit two other files.
