input_player1_b not working in ROMS
-
Hello all. This is my first post and I've poured through the posts here and haven't found a fix for me. I have just completed a bartop cabinet using an RPi 2, IPAC-2 with arcade joysticks and buttons. The problem I'm running into is the functionality of input_player1_b mapping within the ROMS. The buttons works as it should in the Retropie menus, acting as the Back button. I've remapped the button on the IPAC and in the all config file just for kicks, but have the same issue. Has anyone else run into this issue? I appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

@gaddy5 is your ipac seen as a keyboard or 2 controllers? For me, mine is seen as keyboard i couldnt use the f keys, number keys and num keys because not all retroarch emulators recognize them. Now on your ipac is it button 2 or b? I dont use the a and b buttons personally. I dont know which buttons those are when you program the ipac as they arent used in the main 6 button layout.

@edmaul69 Yes, the ipac is seen as a keyboard. And I kept the default mappings for the ipac and my button layout is:
1 2 3
JS 4 5 6
Button 2 above is mapped to input_player1_b in my config file as input_player1_b = "alt" and is wired to 1SW2 on the IPAC. This button works in the menus in that it backs out to the previous screen but does not perform the in game function. The thing that gets me, is that this same button works perfectly ok for player 2. I have the same button layout for player 2, input_player2_b = "S", wired to 2SW2 on the ipac, and performs the in game action as should.

@gaddy5 can you program b button to an unused letter. And then redo the controller configuration?

@edmaul69 Good suggestion, and I did try that. I reconfigured the ipac so 1SW2 = B, then configured input_player1_b = "B" and ended up with the same results.

@edmaul69 I'm wondering if I should note, that I disconnected the ipac and used ONLY my keyboard for the inputs and had the same result. Alt on the keyboard worked to navigate back to previous screens in Retropie menus, but did not work in game roms.
