Retropie PSX roms Organization and File type help.

RPI 3
Custom 5V PS good for 8A running a few different things. Vin ~5.25V
Retropie 4.1So I'm running retropie with Attract Mode, but ES is also installed.
I have several PSX games that work and several that dont.
I've found that the rom is not detected if I place the files in a separate folder with the default directory ie:. roms/psx/crashbandicootAs such I have to place all of the roms in the same default folder @ roms/psx. Which as I said some work, some dont.
most roms are .bin + .cue file type. One issue is that some of them have track files associated with them ie: track 1,2 etc.
When importing a second rom that has its own track files of the same name ie:. track 1,2 obviously there is a file name conflict therefore necessitating individual folders which as I said don't work.I have tried to use psx2psp to create .pbp roms, but thusfar it hasn't worked. For example I used resident evil 2 discs 1 and 2 which were .bin files to create a single .pbp file.
But it doesnt work. Likely bc the new .pbp file is a folder and you can't rename the new eboot file to differentiate and the emulator cant see inside of folders for some reason.
Anyway I'm a super linux noob and although I've searched on this issue for hours I really can't find anything definitive to follow.
TIA

You can always download the games already in pbp format. Saved me a bunch of time that way. I found just about every american release already premade.
