@edmaul69 ok so i wanted to show you this

        http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l137/briandamico/nes/Screen Shot 2017-05-16 at 1.13.37 AM.png

this is a photo of two games, visible, on my mac running basilisk which can be opened and played.

now on the pi3, when i load the mac, and go to the same location the games folder is, the file icon is completely white and they won't open like they do on basilisk on my actual iMac.

@edmaul69 here is the photo on the pi now

          http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l137/briandamico/nes/IMG_1103.jpg

you can see the files are solid white.

so just a bit baffled why that would be as everything else makes sense

@edmaul69 forgive me, i am not aware of what color setting does. but what i do know is when i try to open any of them they bring up an error where as on the actual mac version, they open.

@briandamico ok. Here is what you need to do. On the pi try setting the color to 32 bit or whatever the highest setting is. Then try to play the game. If it doesnt work you need to tell me the exact error and i will tell you how to fix.

hey ed, ok so while i wait for the keyboard stuff to come, i am going to get back to this. now you said to go to the pi setting and go to 32 bit.
is this in retro pie settings or settings on the macintosh OS itself ?

@briandamico take all your games and apps you have and put them in your macintosh folder on your pi. The unix hard drive is that folder. So now you can open up the unix drive, drag an app onto the desktop and install it. Then on the macintosh drive if there isnt a games folder create one. Then put all your installed games in there.

when i was saying 32 bit i was talking about changing the color inside mac os. It doesnt use bits for its color. Its like 16 colors, 256 colors, millions, and billions. But dont worry about that at the moment

@edmaul69 ok i have a shared folder that is in the Macintosh roms folder which has the games folder in it. i moved that over the macintosh HD icon

                        was that not good enough

should i have the games folder directly in the main area and not in a sub folder

                          Probably.

N64 emulation is the next step :)

If it works the same way as the ninty consoles, leave it in the main area

N64 emulation is the next step :)

@edmaul69 i should also mention, the games are already unzipped and in dedicated folders.
no installation is needed. its just click and open and play but thats not the case right now like it is via basilisk on the mac where the icon is present to click, open, and play.

@edmaul69 so in pi/roms/macintosh/ i made a folder called games. and put all the games in their singular file form removed from the folders they were in with their own titles and a few other random files associated with them. just the games are in one folder called games.

went into the os and moved the games folder from unix to the desktop.
opened the folder, icons were still white and same error occurred when trying to open

and again, not the problem on basilisk on the mac. they open just fine
