Glitchy graphics in some psx games

Having a problem with some psx games, there is black squares showing over some graphics, I attached a picture, I was wondering how this can be fixed

@anthonyp555 Have you tried a ROM from a different source? I would start there.

do you have the enhanced graphics stuff turned on? it is quite buggy with certain 2d elements.
