I accidentally powered down during an update of God knows what. I had selected "update all installed packages" from the Retropie setup menu, and it was somewhere in the middle of that process.

Now emulation station still runs, but I can't access anything in retropie - not retropie setup, run command configuration, nor file manager.

I'm going to just blow this up and start over.

My question is…can I do that? Rather, can I easily do that? Can I just use windisk32 and rewrite the image directly over this one without doing anything else? Or is there some other reformat process I have to go through first?

    Rpi 3 • Rpi Zero 1.3 • Rpi Zero W
    Retropie Version 4.2
    Theme - Futura
    Emulators - All of them.

Absolutely yes! When you write an image to a SD card all the previous data is overwritten.
