Trouble With Video Splashscreens

Hello. I am having a problem with splashscreens, specificly videos. Any video I try to use as a splashscreen ends up glitching out. It plays the first few seconds without fault, but then starts glitching; it turns black and then the video plays a second, but with black bars appearing randomly, and it repeats that until it's done playing. I've been using MP4 files. Is there another file I should use? If not, am I doing something wrong? What should I do?

@RetroPie-Guy update your emulationstation from source and then go into the menu and video options and make sure that OMX player is set to on.
