Sound was working, now nothing. Occasionally works, then cuts out. ES Volume always resets to 0.

My bartop build was working just fine, sound and everything else. Then one day sound just stopped completely.

I've since changed from the 3.5mm jack to a USB soundcard (and did all the necessary to set it as default sound device).

Occasionally I can turn it all on and sound works straight away, but then sound can cut-out mid game. When it does stop (or doesn't work to begin with), if I go into the sound settings in ES the volume is 0. I can change it up, but as soon as I go back in, it's 0 again.

I'm pretty sure it's not my speakers or amp, as I can't see why it would affect the volume level in the software.

      My setup is as follows:

      • RasPi 3.
      • DVI monitor driven by HDMI port and HDMI > DVI converter.
      • 3.5mm jack and/or USB sound through small, powered amp and speakers.
      • xin-mo USB controller.
