"UK Manufactured"
I always laugh when I read that kind of stuff, as if Made in EU or US is better compared to Made in China? Most of the electronics we own are made in China like our phones etc.
Wow, this guy sells them preloaded with games:

Maybe someone from the UK can report him?
-
@PetroRie Report him...where?
-
@arkive
Well, that would be a good start since he he sells Nintendo roms.
-
I see.
Much as I hate these romsellers I wouldn't be able to report someone since I'm a pirate myself (albeit one who doesn't profit from it). It'd be a tad hypocritical.Don't think you need to be physically in UK to do that. In any case, he'd most likely then drop N-roms and continue selling...

I really don't think its hypocritical at all, because we don't sell them. We keep them for ourselves, no profit is made. You can get them for free, anyone with internet acces could get them literally by searching 2 secs on Google. These re-sellers are also giving RetroPie a bad name.
-
@PetroRie I agree that reselling is terrible and we don't want to promote piracy. My only concern is that if people start reporting all of these bad sellers out there, eventually the big guy, in this case Nintendo, will come after retropie. Nintendo has little incentive to go after individuals as there is not a lot of money involved, but if they start getting enough information that people are using retropie as the system that is running the roms, they may have incentive to take action to shut down our project.
My opinion is that we make sure we keep our project clean and we do not promote the use, selling, sharing of illegal content. You should not promote the fact that you use illegal roms, you should own the original games if you have the roms. We can also reach out to these illegal sellers ourselves and tell them that what they are doing is wrong and that there is licensing with retropie that does now allow this.

That's probably the best course of action - if anybody feels like doing something. They'll most likely ignore it, but you never know. Best let the sleeping lawyers lie...even though I do not believe it is legally possible for any company to go after emulators (and Pie is after all a bunch of emus baked into one package), otherwise they'd do so long time ago.

I'm happy for people to report those selling ROMs. If Nintendo come after RetroPie (despite the project is legal), I would have a welcome rest ;-) Those selling RetroPie with ROMs damage the project - there is likely no point asking them politely to stop - they don't care.

I agree, and I wish people would use a little more sense when posting on the forum. No-one needs to know that people have downloaded a ROM illegally. Keep it to yourself.
