My 8bitdo nes30 pro will work in Emulationstation, but not any roms. I get the yellow prompt that the controller is "not configured" when entering any games.

I've seen a lot of posts in this forum referencing the same issue, but none of the fixes have worked for me so far.

I've manually added a config file to the retroarch-joypads folder. You can see that here: https://pastebin.com/SkwaGVia
      Here's the runcommand.log file: https://pastebin.com/E6w4JwFg
I added a udev rule to both 10-local.rules and 99-bluetooth.rules.
I've also tried both udev and sdl2 driver settings in retroarch.cfg and 8BitDoNES30ProJoystick.cfg.

Any help to get this going would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You don't need to manually create any configs. Did you follow the 8bitdo page in the official documentation? Make sure hack mode is set correctly and then reconfigure the gamepad.

            Hi @noclevernamehere

I've also got a NES30 Pro (firmware V4.0) and thanks to this guide from the official documentation the gamepad is working great with RetroPie. You might want to start from a clean install.
