So I was trying to map my ps3 controller to mame 2003 and it wasnt registering any buttons I would push after selecting them and I ended up leaving the bring up menu button that is normally tab blank. I have removed and installed mame 2003, I have deleted quite a few config files(that did not auto repopulate) and had to reinstall mame4all and then 2003 again. I still havent fixed the issue though.

Pi Model or other hardware: 3
      Power Supply used: 3a
      RetroPie Version Used 4.2.8
      Built From:retropie.org.uk image
USB Devices connected: only keyboard when editing things
      Controller used: oem ps3 wireless
Error messages received: cant fix control input
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant):
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
File: (File with issue - with FULL path) thats what I need
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable) mame2003
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)

You may have messed up the global retroarch config file:
        /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg

You could always buy a cheap 5$ keyboard to use for your Pi as well or look for one that has the tab button working.

I have a keyboard that I used but I changed the key to blank so I cant pull it up with the keyboard anymore either.

                  /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg

I don't see anything in there for mame2003. The other mames work fine.

@jjona5 im sorry wrong one. It is in your roms folder. I stole this from @mediamogul

If you haven't already, try removing:

                    /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2003/cfg/default.cfg

Or if you're using the 'arcade' folder:

                    /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/cfg/default.cfg
