@Hex Got it. Just an fyi - Splashscreens can be made long enough to allow the boot process to complete and then you never need to see the ES loading screen, so in a way this is already possible.

@Hex When you boot up AM, instead of a static image (like the ES loading screen) it plays a video.

@meleu So you want an option to set a Video/image as a LOADING screen?

I would like to see an option to set a custom image as ES loading screen. No need for video.

@TMNTturtlguy The problem is that boot timings are different for different systems.

@lilbud If AM already has it then its not necessary to implement.

Guess everyone is converging towards custom Loading image which should be easy enough

@Hex On my raspi1 setup I like to set everything with the pixel theme look&feel

I use the pixel theme, the pixel-friendly launching images and this splashscreen:
            pixel-splash

The only thing that isn't matching the pixel look&feel is the ES loading screen.

@TMNTturtlguy how could I make the splashscreen stay on the screen for a longer time?

@meleu the only way i know how to do this is create a video. What i do is I time my boot up process from the raspberries up in the corner until the theme is loaded. I time this 3 or 4 times and I take the longest boot time. I add 1 second to it and then I create a video that is 1 second longer than my longest boot time. Most cases with my builds my boot times are around 35 seconds. So i would create a 36 second video. When you have ES play the video splash, your system should boot in the background and the theme should load, when the video ends you should go straight to the theme. For a single image, I just create a movie file that loops the single image for the entire length of time. It is saved as a video file, but in reality, it is just a single static image that is displayed for the duration you have set the video length to. If you want I can create a video of that pixel splash screen you just posted. I just need to know how long you want the video.

                There's no need bro :-)
                Thanks for the offering.

I thought you could turn off the ES loading screen now, so wouldnt the video splash screen just suffice since you can remove ES logo screen anyway?

@Capeman Yeah, that's whst i did. But i wish there was an option inside ES to disable the splashscreen so that we don't have to edit es_config.cfg manually.

On the other hand it would be nice if the splashscreen could be changed via themes.

It's probably not a big deal to edit es_config manually for an option that only needs to be enabled once during setup. It is linux after all, gotta get your hands dirty on the command line sometimes.

@Capeman That's true but isn't that the same for some of the other options? If the option was included it would at least be noticeable that it's possible to deactivate the splashscreen.
I only found out that is possible to do so because someone mentioned it in some thread which I was luckily watching for some other reason.
