Games not loading when adding emulationstation to startup (Ubuntu)
-
Titles sums it up, if I add emulationstation to startup, it opens but when I run a game nothing happens.
If I close it and manually open it again, it works like a charm.
At first I thought maybe it was loading emulationstation before some other critical stuff so I added a 60 second delay to the startup, but the problem persists.any idea? Ubuntu 16.04

@SebaGenetic Please post more information. Which emulator, which game rom etc...

I'm using the lastest version of RetroPie, Ubuntu 16.04
and it happens with any rom and emulator. As a matter of fact, it happens with any option I select, even configs. I select them, it takes me to desktop and then comes back to the menu.
The idea I have is to somehow make ubuntu launch emulationstation in the terminal automatically instead of using auto startup, but I don't know how to do that. -
take into account that if I open terminal and execute 'emulationstation' everything works flawlessly.

@SebaGenetic How did you install and configure? Did you follow this exactly? is the screen saver disabled?

Probably due to the way you are launching ES. Use the autostart feature from retropie-setup configuration to make it start automatically and it will work fine. It has to be launched attached to a terminal.
