@fulton1 OK.. I found a link to the manual for this controller card but I don't think this will help. "http://www.elecrealm.com/down/html/?40.html" It looks like the only way you can change the resolution of the screen is to use a PC with a parallel port and a cable. No luck :-(

@glennlake So nothing can be done ? :(

i did have another screen in this card before and it was PERFECT ( i broke the screen by forcing it into its place :(

So it might be the screen?

@fulton1 he night be able to force a custom res to whatever the board is set too. You can do custom modes on the rpi to a degree. Maybe an edid dump would help

@fulton1 I'm on phone, so can't link. But search for raspberry pi edid dump and you will find how to do it.

@fulton1 welcome to Linux my friend ;) you're either neurotic like me and will spend weeks on a seemingly simple problem and be ecstatic when you finally figure it out or you'll just buy something known to be supported in the first place and save yourself the headache ;)

I find the problem solving to be rewarding as that's what the pi is all about but sometimes it can understandably be frustrating

@fulton1 Sometimes the best way to “cut the Gordian knot” is with a sword. In other words, redo your sd card with a fresh copy.

@fulton1 First.. Like the boss says, read the rules. I have crazy idea but I think it may work. Take a second sd card and put a fresh RetroPie on it. Then copy the config.txt from the new build to the old sd card. If it works your in, if not your in the same boat, nuke and pave. :-(
