Emulator: lr-mame2003 .78 RomsetHello,
I've been banging my head against a wall for the past few hours. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get any of my ROMs to keep their highscores. I've been over the https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/lr-mame2003 guide and have everything in the correct place, but no high scores (or .hi files) are being kept. I've been mucking around the various cfg files, though I don't think there are any settings for hiscore.dat in there for me to mess up. I appreciate the help.

hi! what game are you using to test? not all save hi scores.
I've been mucking around the various cfg files
can you upload the ones you have changed somewhere? the only setting that could affect it is system_directory, i think, but it might be worth checking the whole thing.

mspacman.zip
btime.zip
1941.zipBasically any and all of the .78 roms.
Here is my configs/all retroarch config: https://pastebin.com/RHGkhmqf
Here is my configs/arcade: https://pastebin.com/XSGxMfGh(I didn't create these by hand, I'm actually not sure why they;'re so long, I only have a 2 player arcade cab!)

OK! I took a look at the system_directory you mentioned and it had been set to "default" in ALL and ARCADE. I changed them both to "/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS" and now my high scores are saving! Thanks!!
-
@cl9yst9rr Where did you find system_directory? And did you change all the ones that said default to home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS, or just one?
-
@TheBear123 I changed it in the configs/all and the configs/arcade to be sure. It's working great now.
-
@cl9yst9rr I just can't find configs/all or configs/arcade. I'm pretty new to this

you should fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first so we can better assist you. current versions of retropie should 'just work' with hi scores so you shouldn't have to change anything, but it depends on what version you're running, what emulator, what game, and so on.
