      Greetings,
I've researched this site as well as many others in efforts to solve this problem. After installing Retropie successfully, it will not recognize my USB flashdrive. I've made sure to format correctly (FAT32) and used more than one drive to see if that would correct things. No matter what I do, Retropie simply does not write the necessary folders and data to the flashdrive. I have a Macbook Pro without an ethernet adapter so I can't transfer via cable either. I have done everything that was suggested here as well as other resources to no avail. I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks...

I had this problem with an older version of retropie (like, 4.0 maybe) and I ended up just making the folders manually. It was also very picky about folder names being in lower case (see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Transferring-Roms/). The latest version did not have this problem for me.

Without getting more information, about what version you are using, what hardware you have, and if you can see the drive in the command line (i think the command lsblk will show you connected drives) I can't say with any certainty what your issue is.

Thank you for your reply...it helps a lot! I was thinking about manually naming the folders as well. I guess I can check and see the information that you request. Your post has been more helpful than most I have found in other forums so I appreciate it. Please excuse my "noobness" but how would I find the information that you request? Thanks...
